Linda Dangoor´s experience with clay is a recent one. It began in 1999 and was a revelation; a ´love at first touch´.
This has continued, ever since, to be a joyous and sensual exploration of form and rhythm. She finds her inspiration in the sinuous lines of geological phenomena and in the graceful movement of the human figure.
Linda Dangoor builds her vessels mainly by coiling. Coil upon coil, layer upon layer until the form is reached.
"The clay body is an ancient body. A reservoir of recycled lives and untold tales. Each coil could be a thousand years old. Sometimes, my pots echo the human form...the body as a geological construct."
