Claywork
Coil upon coil, layer upon layer until the form is found, I build by hand, using earthenware, stoneware and porcelain. Sometimes I experiment with wedging, to achieve a less uniform appearance. I use glazes sparingly because I like to see the rawness of the clay body.
Pieces are sculptural rather than functional; perfect and imperfect containers, they may convey landscapes and movement, the body and the feminine. Somehow, all these meanings converge in a single pot.
